I like that your impression is that it is not about the laptop itself, but about the educational opportunities the XO might open up. I agree. That is the power of the project, even with its quirks and bumps.
I am now trying to organize a gathering of XOers from my neck of the woods -- there are at least four of us in the area near my neighborhood, which I think is pretty amazing. They came out of the woodwork after I wrote and published a story about my XO in the regional newspaper.
