Research Development Portfolio
I’m dipping my toes into the water of Educational Research and hoping to be ankle deep by the end of the semester. This is my Research Development Portfolio designed to help guide me as a doctoral student and organize my thinking in terms of theory, research and practice. It is divided up into the following sections:
Initial Statement of Interest: What do I want to learn? What research area interests me? Why? This was my thinking at the start of beginning of this journey.
Annotations: It is a collection of articles read, publications explored, as well as reflections from my participation in professional organizations and local, state and national conferences. This area will continue to grow and strengthen during the course of the semester to help focus my area of interest and narrow my topic.
Learning from the Best! A collection of interviews and biographies designed to provide alternative perspectives to the research I gain from articles and publications.
Professional Organizations and Publications: Where the best of the best collaborate, publish and connect!
Glossary: Important terms associated with my field and area of interest
Learning from the Past: Taking a historical perspective, a look back on the journey of educators before us and how we came to stand on the edge of this new beginning.
What’s the Buzz? Current issues in education, both in the trenches and on capital hill. How does current practice and policy impact issues I believe shape our education systems.
Interest Area– 16 Weeks Later: A statement of interest based upon all that I have learned through discussions, readings, research and life experience.
ED-TECH Key Resources: Links to collaborative spaces specializing in educational technology.
Please join in the conversation, follow my progress, and comment often. Learning is always more purposeful and meaningful when it involves collaboration and discourse!
