Yong Zhao is University Distinguished Professor at the College of Education, Michigan State University, where he also serves as the founding director of the Center for Teaching and Technology, executive director of the Confucius Institute, as well as the US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence. He is interested in computer gaming, innovative use of technology in education, how technology information is shared and computer assisted language learning.

Ken Frank is a profession in the Measurement and Quantitative Methods program in the College of Education at Michigan State University.  Dr. Frank is also a professor in the Fisheries and Wildlife within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University. He studies social structures of organizations and systems.  He typically studies small organizations such as schools.

Cindy Okolo: is a professor in the Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education department at Michigan State University.  Her primary interests include the use of  technologies to enable learning of those with mild learning disabilities and the development of virtual learning environments.

Troy Mariage: is an associate professor of special education at Michigan State University. His research interests are in the areas of literacy instruction for students with mild disabilities in elementary classrooms. He has conducted work in early reading instruction, writing instruction, and cognitive strategy instruction that leads to self-regulated learning.

Larry Cuban: Professor at Standford University and well-published scholar on the history of school reform, particularly in regards to the use of technology and how practice and policy impact reform efforts.

Chris Dede: Professor at Harvard in the Graduate School of Education, his interests include emerging technologies and the infusion of those technologies into reform efforts for education and learning.  His current research projects focus on online professional development, mobile computing and virtual learning environments

Ann Lieberman: is an emeritus professor from Teachers College, Columbia University.She is now a Senior Scholar at The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and a Visiting Professor at Stanford University. Dr. Liberman was also the President of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in 1992.  She is known for her work in the areas of teacher professional learning networks and the development of teacher leadership.  She has done extensive work with the National Writing Project.

Troy Hicks: is a assistant professor at Central Michigan University and the director of the Chippewa River Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project, an organization dedicated to teachers’, writing and professional development.  Dr. Hicks recently published a book, The Digital Writing Workshop, in which he advocates for the use of technology as a tool to enhance and support sound pedagogical practices in teaching and learning.

Bud Hunt is an instructional technologist for the St. Vrain Valley School District in northern Colorado, before that he taught language arts and journalism in a high school in Colorado.  He is a teacher-consultant with the Colorado State University Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project, a group working to improve the teaching of writing in schools via regular and meaningful professional development. Bud is an avid blogger and advocate for a common sense approach to the use of technology in education.

Clay Shirky is a consultant, teacher and writer on the social effects of the emerging digital technologies.  He is an adjunct professor at NYU’s graduate Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). He is the author of Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing without Organizations, 2008.
